„I am fascinated by what we do not know. What it might look like out there, how a civilisation builds that uses stars as its source of energy, how a being made of light and metal might glow. I have no answers. But I can build objects that place these questions in a room – out of steel, glass and light. It has nothing to do with magic. Only with imagination.“

About
Fitter, electrical engineer – and someone who thinks of the universe when he sees light.
Ing. Renaldo Badelka, born in 1960, lives and works in Bärnbach in western Styria, Austria. Trained as a machine fitter, then electrical engineering at HTL Graz-Gösting, with the Austrian Federal Railways from 1975 to 2021. Since the late 1980s he has been building objects of metal and glass that glow – each one of a kind. For a long time art was his counterbalance to working life; since 2021 he has devoted himself to it entirely.
